The Feast of Ideas is our annual fundraising gala, where we celebrate the stories of our students. Our guests always rave about the delectable food, unique giving opportunity, and hearing first-hand from students that we are privileged to work with! This year we’re excited to welcome four community champions, who will guide our time in celebrating students. The Feast of Ideas is an unforgettable night you don’t want to miss.

The 2019 Feast of Ideas will be held on Thursday evening, May 9. Doors open and food will be available starting at 6pm with a program to follow at 7pm.

We are excited to host our 6th annual Feast of Ideas at the Historic Masonic Temple in downtown Canton.

If you are unable to join us for the evening, but would like to make a difference in the lives of middle schoolers, your donations will help us reach our goals for the night, which will release matching funds, multiplying your gift. Give today at

What exactly is “celebration attire”?
When folks dress in their finer duds, it’s a sign of great respect. We have a great amount of respect for the students we have had the privilege of working with over the past year and so we want to honor them with a classy evening. You don’t have to rent a tuxedo, but we do want to kindly ask that you get gussied up for a good cause (and of course you can wear that tux if you like!).

What is the itinerary for the evening?
Here’s the rough outline:

  • There is going to be some super scrumptious food.
  • The doors open at six and dinner will be available immediately. A cash bar will also be available as you mix and mingle.
  • We have several community champions who have volunteered to introduce and celebrate our fabulous students. You can look forward to hearing from:
    • Officer LaMar Sharpe (Canton City Police & Be A Better Me Foundation)
    • Janet Weir Creighton (Stark County Commissioner)
    • Monique Cox-Moore (Director of Community Engagement for the Ohio Secretary of State)
    • Robb Hankins (CEO of Arts in Stark)
  • And you’ll be treated to great stories from students with amazing imaginations and gutsy stick-to-itiveness.
  • Woven throughout, we will have a special, fun, one-of-a-kind giving opportunity!

Is this a fundraiser?
Indeed! It’s only due to generous folks (like you!) that we can help middle school students change the world. This night is a great chance to hear stories straight from our students and then consider how you would like to support that.

What is the menu for the night?
Ask anyone who has been a part of the Feast of Ideas in the past and you will hear about how fantastic the food is.Food is available from the start along with a cash bar. We’ll have more info posted about our menu soon!
